Is there a distinction between the positive and negative poles of the microphone? The answer is: Yes, there is a distinction between positive and negative electrodes on the microphone product. How to distinguish the positive and negative poles of the microphone? The following is how to distinguish the positive and negative electrodes of the microphone from the microphone factory:

The most direct and intuitive method is to visually inspect the two tin points on the microphone product board. If the tin point is independent, it is the positive electrode, and if the tin point copper is connected to the microphone shell, it is the negative electrode. Another method is to use a multimeter to measure the continuity test. One of the tin points and the shell is connected together is the negative electrode of the microphone product.

How to test the microphone with a multimeter:

Condenser microphones are generally electret type, the basic microphone circuit structure.

1. The normal electret microphone can be tested with a multimeter. The general model directly measures the resistance value around 2K. If you blow or knock, you can see the resistance value changes significantly.

2. If it is a digital multimeter, connect the red test lead to the positive electrode of the electret and the black one to the negative electrode (usually the pin connected to the case). The 2k resistance value of the conventional model is good, and the change of blow and percussion is generally greater than 500 ohms. The greater the change, the better the sensitivity.

3. If you use an analog multimeter, choose a good gear, connect the black test lead to the negative electrode of the electret, and the red connect to the positive electrode. The test method is the same.

The above methods can only test the sensitivity and general quality of the microphone product. Other parameters cannot be judged. For example, if you want to test the distortion and noise of the product, you need to use more professional sound quality testing tools. If your product has a need for customization and testing, Australia's Mitou engineers will provide you with professional acoustic and electrical system solutions.
